Staff were lovely and did a great pre-start explaining how it would roll and signals for did wait a bit but that was due to the water clarity which we were very appreciative of. We took turns going down and all were underwater - my 13 year old freaked so they took her straight back up and settled her and encouraged her to come back down which she did. This was an awesome experience- we all loved it and would recommend..Written September 21, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Strong currents, lots of sand moving in the water. Very rushed. My daugter was given no time to pressurize her ears. Just whizzed to the bottom. Chose you time of year to go. Not in big tides and choppy seas. He put in alot of effort in getting good photos of me and my husband. That was good. But the view underwater, was quite dissapointing. We went to Tanjong Benoa and it was quite pricey. Since this is our first experience, we got really excited. But what we see underwater are dead corals and fishes. Feeding the fishes was exciting at the beginning, but doing that only the entire time is not that fun. And the water is not clean. Limited visibility. And they dont sell only pictures. We planned to get one photo as rememberance but then we were told we need to buy one package of photos and video which is another price bomb. Ended up not buying anything. Theu could have shared this with us much earlier. But its ok, overall, it was ok. Experience February 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The guide who went to the bottom with us seemed interested only in getting us to pose for lots of photos and videos, and not really in communicating. After we were down for 5 minutes, my wife felt a bit uneasy and claustrophobic, so she made the “something’s wrong” hand gesture. The guide took a while to understand the gesture - then he finally accompanied her back up the ladder, leaving me completely by myself for 2-3 minutes. I don’t spook easily, but this was a bit scary, since a bit of water had got into the bottom part of my helmet. Worse after a minute or two up on the pontoon, my wife indicated that she would like to go back down underwater since this was supposed to be a 20-25-minute experience at least. But she was told by the guys on the boat that I would be up shortly. Meanwhile, down below, the guide refused to understand my gestures trying to ask about her, and he made me stay for another 10-12 minutes even though there was hardly anything to see - no coral reefs or anything. We had seen some good corals in the Andamans, and the photos were very colourful. My wife and I are not complainers and we usually make the best of any such experience, but we both felt shortchanged. When we got back to the beach and explained what had happened to the person in charge a friendly, smiling lady, she said sorry for the experience but only added that such communication problems should not happen, and they are grateful for the feedback. We have a CD full of pictures only a few clear ones since visibility in the water wasn’t too good, but we had paid a separate amount for that anyway 400,000 IDR. On the whole, this was a waste of time and September 6, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A boat takes us few hundred meters from the beach and then we are in the middle of the sea. Just one step and we are inside the ocean. The water was crystal clear and can see thousands of fishes inside the sea which come to us for eating the bread offered to them by us. Woohoo that was a superbb experience to hold the railings inside the sea and walk around on the sea bed with oxygen masks on the head. Unexplainable experience, a memory for life, thousand times better than snorkelling and scuba diving where you need to carry a lot of things ... here just go in the sea and come back with all the beautiful memories for July 19, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Dont miss the top up choice of getting fish food to lure a high school of fish surrounding you and within your reach to touch them and play with them. With a reasonable fee, all the actions captured by well taken pictures and video by the operators and provided as electronic copies to refresh these beautiful memories for a lifetime!!! First, we made an appointment in the office and there were plenty of open dates and times. We arrived back at the office at our scheduled time and the worker there had us fill out waivers and read through the instructions. Everything was she brought us out to the speed boat, which was right at the shore of the beach of the resort, past the infinity pool area. The boat was a bit old but I did not mind. The driver helped us up on the boat and put our belongings safely away. We went a few minutes out to a floating boat dock and were helped up by our driver and another man on the dock. The men cleaned the helmets, checked the pressure machines and briefed us through the instructions again. They were all very friendly and one of them made good conversation. Throughout the whole underwater experience, I felt safe and guided. It was definitely a new experience breathing in the helmets and walking underwater, but I was not nervous at all! My partner was a bit nervous but the workers were so helpful and he had a great time. We were underwater for about 35 minutes and were given bottles of fish food to attract the fish. Overall, great experience and we were able to buy the pictures they took of us for $30usd. If we'd have paid for it we would have been very disappointed! We were quite looking forward to it until we sat in the office reading the introductory documents and then we both ended up feeling quite nervous! It was advertised as a nice calm walk across the seabed that was suitable for young and old… the induction notes then started talking about water getting in the helmets whilst you were underwater, equalising your ears as you leave the boat and travel down under the water, heavy currents pushing you around… I’m not really sure what we were expecting but we started to wonder what we’d signed up for!The boat that took us out was a pretty old speedboat, it had seen better days! It leaves from the far corner of the beach to the left of the Grand Mirage hotel as you are looking out to boat takes you out to a pontoon which is anchored a little way off of the beach. The pontoon itself and the Seawalk helmets that greet you also look really old and were not making us feel any more comfortable about the whole thing! The helmets reminded me of something out of an old war film! There were 3 guys on the boat, 2 didn’t really seem to speak English and the 1 guiding us through things was trying his best but was maybe not as clearly spoken as we needed in that situation, especially when you’re feeling a little on edge!My partner went first, got on the stairs on the back of the boat and started stepping down. They then lowered the helmet on to him so that the water took some of the weight of it but you could see immediately from his face that he didn’t like the feeling! The helmets can make you feel very claustrophobic. It was quite a rough day when we went out too, so as he tried to then step further down the ladder into the sea, a wave came across and loads of water went up in to the helmet. At that point he jumped straight out and said no, I can’t do that, I don’t feel felt bad that they’d brought us out and had everything set up so I felt that I had to go through with it then so as not to have wasted their time! But to be honest, when I got half way down the ladder and had water splashing into my helmet, I could quite easily have said no thank you, I don’t like this feeling either! But I persevered and managed to equalise my ears by continuously swallowing until I hit the instructor took my hand and guided me to a rail to hold on to – there was a really strong current so you needed to be fairly strong to stand your ground. There is no way an older person could have done sensation of breathing normally underwater was a bit odd and it wasn’t pleasant when water came in to the helmet – It got up to around chin level – you have to just stay calm and somehow trust that it’s not going to completely fill up with water! The instructor gave me some fish food to squirt in front of my face which brought fish over to me and it was good fun for a minute or 2 but that was about it – there were only 2 types of fish down there so once you’ve seen them it gets boring pretty quickly. You stay in a little area that’s just a couple of meters squared and there is literally nothing else around for you to see. I used the 2 bottles of fish food that the instructor took down with him, whilst he took loads of photos, then he got me to hold on to a metal bar and he walked me round in a circle away from the fixed bar that I had been holding and then he signalled whether I wanted to stay down or go up and I jumped at the chance for it to be over! I wasn’t enjoying being in the helmet and there was nothing more to see anyway! Needless to say we were happy when the rickety boat got us back to dry land! You can go to the office and view your photos the next day but we didn’t buy any as the quality wasn’t in summary, I was sort of glad that I tried it, just so I knew what it was all about, but I wouldn’t do it again and I definitely wouldn’t pay to do October 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We apologize in advance if you feel uncomfortable with equipment, boats, and staff with a little basic English, well we will discuss this problem with management in the future we will update everything, the boat and also the staff will learn more English, Apologize again we explain a little for the problem of seawalker, our helmet really weighs 37 kg, and indeed when it will go down then the water will rise because of the influence of the waves and this is normal, we will also get pressure in water maybe you are not familiar because you first tried this and normally the water coming in the helmet under your chin but if you keep look straight the water will not come up until your mouth, incidentally the current sea water conditions, waves, not many fish, and poor visibility because we can not predict it every time can change, and before all this you did read in briefing noted and also the staff explained again in the pontoon with a brief briefing. And once again we apologize for all the inconvenience, we will fix everything and in the future much better for our next guests, and we hope that when you want to try again in our seawalker with your family and get good water conditions and photos which is very good to see.
